You most likely have gotten an email "friendship questionnaire" asking you all sorts of things, like:
That kind of thing. There's usually a question something like this: Pearls or Diamonds?
Without fail, pearls is always my answer. I. Love. Pearls. Any pearls I have are from my husband...so that just makes them extra special.
According to Pure Pearls:
Guess that's why I like it so much...love.
Pearls are a perfect wedding accessory for the Mother of the Bride. In choosing the jewelry to wear with your wedding attire, here's a "pearl of widsom" (groan) from Pure Pearls:
Here are a few of Pure Pearls' pretty pearls:

An ultra formal, evening "White Tie" wedding calls for the very best.
The Father of the Bride should be outfitted in full tuxedo (tails would be perfect!) with white vest, white shirt, and bow tie. Black patent shoes ... shine 'em up and slip 'em on.
A White Tie event calls for the Mother of the Bride to don her most elegant and formal evening wear. A MOB can never go wrong with beads or sequins at a White Tie affair. Heels are a must. An updo with knock-em-over-with-a-feather earrings would be icing on the cake!
Here are a few gorgeous evening ensembles that would be perfect...elegant and formal, yet subtle enough not to out-shine the bride...always a MOB's dress goal!
1: Tadashi gown at Nordstrom's, Valentino shoes at Saks, and Christian Louboutin clutch at Saks
2: Adrianna Papell gown at Nordstrom's, Valentino shoes at Saks, and Judith Leiber at Saks
3: Jordan Fashions gown, Prada shoes at Saks, and Christian Louboutin clutch at Saks
Check out the MOB's Guide to Wedding Dress Codes!
I've never been to a White Tie event, have you? If so, spill the details!
I was hanging around Etsy this weekend and found myself drawn to these cool things. Wound up they were all round!
1. These cute flowers from Badbooks are too cute. They're made from recycled paper!
2. I just love this necklace from Christina Guenther. Your words, her silver.
3. What a great stamp from Tickled Pink Paper & Ink. Great shower gift!
4. Cute little calling card holders from Social Circle Cards. Wonder if they'd make one that says "The MOB!"
5. These hangers from Absolutely Dottie are so versatile! Gift tags, napkin rings, wine charms...the sky's the limit!
6. How appropriate...a love knot ring. Handcrafted by Beyond the Rockz.
What do you do when you're just hangin' a-round?
Once you've found the perfect Mother of the Bride dress (and are basking in the joy of having accomplished one of your most important Mother of the Bride responsibilities), why ruin the euphoric feeling with the stress of finding a purse to match. Go custom.
I came across this very cool site. Fashion Palette. Choose the style of purse you want, then customize it from an assortment of fabrics (solid and patterned) in a wide array of colors. You even get to choose the liner fabric. How cool is that.
Check out the designs (and remember...you get to choose the fabrics and colors!)...
Take a sneak peek at this new product at the Just Wright Designs blog. I've seen a FULL picture of it ... and it's adorable!

My mom (the GMOB) is visiting this week. We talked about how nice it is when family heirlooms are made part of a wedding.
The bride's bouquet is the perfect place to display special family items.
A family rosary - or maybe the one the bride or groom received at a Christening or First Communion - is beautifully displayed on this bouquet from Bloomery Weddings.
Martha Stewart via Truly Engaging shows how a dainty handkerchief can be lovingly used.
Attach a brooch, pendant or cameo to a bouquet like this one featured on Utah Bride.
Do you have any family heirlooms your daughter bride plans to attach to a bouquet?
These shoes I happened upon over at Wedding Chicks inspired me.
I’ve been wishing lately that I had a pair of red shoes. Or blue shoes. Or green shoes. Something other than the black and brown shoes in my closet. Black and brown heels. Black and brown sandals. Black and brown flats.
... or green. These little lovelies were shown on -- where else -- the Green Wedding Shoes blog.
These pink shoes remind me of the color dress I wore as Matron of Honor for my sister. That would be a nice, nostalgic touch, don't you think? I came across these over at Wedding Bee.
Ahhh…robin’s egg blue. It’ll be a springtime wedding, so this pair that I happened upon over at Ritzy Bee would be perfect!
What's in your closet?
